£12m ace suggests Arsenal or Newcastle move would be 'my dream'
Football
Galatasaray defender Sacha Boey admits ‘my dream is the Premier League’ in a boost to reported suitors Arsenal, Crystal Palace and Newcastle United.
During the summer of 2021, Boey turned down Celtic in favour of a move to Istanbul.
Considering that the former France U20 international now looks set to secure himself a big-money switch to one of Europe’s major league after claiming the Turkish Super Lig title at the second time of asking, even the most ardent Hoops supporter would have to admit that Boey’s decision has been justified.
The 22-year-old right-back is one of the first names on the team sheet for a Galatasaray side sitting six points clear of bitter rivals Fenerbahce in top spot.
His all-action displays have caught the eye of Newcastle United, Aston Villa and Crystal Palace. AC Milan and Arsenal too, according to Tuttomercatoweb.
And while the allure of the San Siro certainly appeals, Boey’s ‘dream’ remains the Premier League.

“Being followed flatters me. I hope that the interest shown in January can turn into something concrete at the end of the season,” the former Rennes youngster tells Transfermarkt, via TMW.
“I have I spoke to many defenders who have played in Serie A. They were all happy with the choice. In this regard, I received only positive feedback. If you play there, you are obliged to improve tactically and defensively. It is in the league’s DNA.
“My dream remains the Premier League, like for most players. It’s a league that suits my aggressive style of play. I also like the Bundesliga. There are full-backs who attack, fight.
“I have improved defensively but I miss attacking a bit.”
Boey is reportedly valued at around £17 million. Arsenal do not have a natural right-sided defender in their squad; Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu more ‘jack of all trades’ than natural full-backs.
Newcastle hope to bring in cover for Kieran Tripper. At Crystal Palace, meanwhile, both Joel Ward and Nathaniel Clyne are the wrong side of 30 these days.
