Arsenal are set to reignite their transfer pursuit of Bayer Leverkusen winger Moussa Diaby this summer, with sporting director Edu still 'in contact'.

Despite the German side's resistance in recent transfer windows, the situation has now flipped on its head as interest from various top sides is finally set to force the club's hand at the end of the season.

The Gunners' hunt for a winger was well publicised in January. Upon deciding that Mykhaylo Mudryk was out of their price range, Mikel Arteta was given Leandro Trossard in a £27million deal, and the Belgian has made a positive impression since signing.

His solid form, with eight goal contributions in 12 Premier League games for the Gunners, could make things complicated regarding Arsenal's interest in Diaby.

However, German outlet Bild claim that the north London side remain among the favourites to swoop for the Leverkusen star.

The German side signed the Frenchman from Paris Saint-Germain in 2019 and they are set to turn a monster profit one way or another this summer, having set out their stall at £53m.

Diaby has now reached double figures across all competitions for the last three seasons running. With 13 goals this campaign, he is on course to finish with another respectable total as he continues to feature regularly for the French national team.

A wide threat with raw pace and a low centre of gravity, Diaby and his Leverkusen team-mates have enjoyed a turnaround under the management of Liverpool and Real Madrid legend Xabi Alonso this term.
