Wilshere tips £110k-a-week Arsenal player to become a 'top coach' one day
Arsenal U-18s head coach Jack Wilshere has tipped Granit Xhaka to become a top manager in the future.
The former Gunners midfielder told journalist Charles Watts in an interview with GOAL when quizzed about which current player could become a successful coach one day.

While Arsenal star Granit Xhaka is often viewed as a hothead by fans and pundits alike, it seems as if Jack Wilshere sees a blossoming manager in him.

Interestingly, the Swiss international admitted in March that he would like to manage in the Premier League one fine day and especially Arsenal.

In December, it was reported by the Daily Mail that the £110,000-a-week [Salary Sport] man was doing his coaching badges, as well as Rob Holding, Mohamed Elneny and Cedric Soares.
It seems Jack Wilshere has picked his brain about his ideas as a manager, which is why he seems confident that Granit Xhaka will make for a brilliant manager.
“I think all of them. Granit [Xhaka] especially will be a top coach. There is no way if you want to be a coach and you are around Mikel [Arteta] and you see him coach, that you wouldn’t want to go and do your badges. There is no way. It is just the way he coaches and the passion that he has with it. It’s just inspiring.”
The Arteta influence
Perhaps one reason why Jack Wilshere envisages Granit Xhaka to thrive as a manager is because of his natural leadership qualities.
But beyond that, as Wilshere himself said, working under the Arsenal boss has inspired many to take up coaching as a future endeavour.
That is testament to Mikel Arteta’s brilliance and just how much of an incredible manager he is that he has influenced others to venture into the same field as well.
