Liverpool transfer news as Jamal Musiala fee emerges and Kaoru Mitoma decision made

Liverpool transfer news as Jürgen Klopp learns the fee it will take to sign Jamal Musiala and Kaoru Mitoma deals a huge blow to the Reds

Liverpool is fast approaching the return of Premier League action after the international break, as Jürgen Klopp's side prepares to host Everton on Saturday afternoon. It's another early kick-off for the Reds following the conclusion of the break, with the match kicking off at 12:30.

The likes of Darwin Núñez, Alexis Mac Allister and Luís Diaz have all traveled thousands of miles back to the AXA Training Centre after featuring on Wednesday for their respective teams. But the South American contingent were all pictured in training yesterday, suggesting they may be ready to feature.

Klopp has previously voiced his displeasure at the intensity of the schedule and lack of recovery time for his players. But he must now look past this and prepare his squad for the Merseyside derby this weekend.

While the strain of the increased fixture list and as injury problems within the squad continue to grow, the recruitment team at Liverpool will have one eye on the January transfer window, as they analyze the possibility of bringing further recruits into the fold. Here is the Liverpool.com verdict on the transfer gossip to emerge around the Reds today, with an exciting midfielder and an electric forward the topics of discussion.

Jamal Musiala (Bayern Munich)

Liverpool is being heavily linked with a move for German playmaker Jamal Musiala. It could have just discovered the fee it would need to pay to bring him to Anfield.

According to Spanish publication Fichajes, the Reds will likely have to part ways with a figure in the region of $105m (£87m/€100m) in order to acquire the 20-year-old star. The club continues to monitor the player, with Klopp said to be a huge fan.

Kaoru Mitoma (Brighton)

Brighton's Japanese winger Kaoru Mitoma has penned a new five-year-deal at the Amex Stadium. In doing so, he reportedly spurned advances from Liverpool.

According to London World, Liverpool was among a cluster of several clubs that made an approach for Mitoma, which also included Manchester United and Barcelona. But the winger has ended any speculation by extending his deal.

The 26-year-old will receive a wage of around $97k (£80k/€92k) per week, as he becomes one of the highest earners within Roberto De Zerbi's squad. Still notably lower than the stars of the Liverpool squad, perhaps Anfield officials will continue to watch from afar.

Liverpool.com says: Mitoma is yet another gem that Brighton has discovered through its unique recruitment strategy. Liverpool secured the signing of Mac Allister from the Seagulls this summer, but Mitoma will now join Moisés Caicedo as a deal it will miss out on, at least for now.
