Arsenal managed a 3-1 win over Burnley at the Emirates as Mikel Arteta’s side heads into the international break on a high.


Arsenal secured a gritty 3-1 win over Burnley in the Premier League that puts Mikel Arteta’s side up to second as they now head into the international break on a high.

Leandro Trossard put the Gunners ahead right on the stroke of halftime as he put everything on the line to get something on Bukayo Saka’s headed pass.


The Belgian has been in superb form of late and rewarded Arteta with a goal and an assist, as he was the Gunners’ best on the day.

Burnley didn’t lay down and got themselves level just after halftime as Josh Brownhill got himself on the scoresheet via a deflection. But just three minutes later, William Saliba rose to head home from close range to restore Arsenal’s lead.


Then, Oleksandr Zinchenkp put the result beyond doubt with an acrobatic finish from 15 yards as the Gunners grabbed a vital three points.

Leandro Trossard deserves a starting berth


The Belgian was sublime against Burnley and got his reward with a goal that wasn’t the prettiest, but it got the job done, along with an assist for good measure.

Trossard was handed a start-up top and looked lively as he brought others into the game. Is he Arsenal’s answer for the No. 9 spot in Gabriel Jesus’ absence?
