Arsenal told to sign£80M man–Gunners hold positive talks with Defender–Big midfielder statement made
Here is a roundup of the top Arsenal news and gossip from icfootballnews that we think you guys may have missed –
Arsenal have been advised to refrain from signing Ousmane Dembele in January by former star Emmanuel Petit.
Dembele is yet to find the net despite making 13 appearances for the Parisians since making a summer move from Barcelona
His performances for the French giants has led to alot of speculation in the media that they would be open to letting Dembele leave the club in the January window if they receive the right offer.
However – amid all the speculation and all the rumours – Petit has opened up and told ARSENAL to stay away from signing Dembele in the winter window, claiming he wastes too many chances.
“Dembele is struggling as he’s under massive pressure at PSG,” he told OLBG. “He wastes chances on many occasions and he’s not scoring goals. It’s been a difficult start for him, so I can’t say Dembele for Arsenal.”
Instead the former midfielder encouraged the Gunners board to make a move for striker Ivan Toney – who has been all over the headlines for the past few months.
“I’m a huge fan of Ivan Toney,’ he said. “He’s done a great job with Brentford ever since they came up from the Championship, and I’m not surprised that they’re struggling without him, even if they beat Chelsea at the weekend.
“Brentford are not the same team without Toney and the package he brings – his goals, mentality, and behaviour. Whoever gets Toney in January, if he does leave, will be getting a great bargain. If Arsenal have a chance to sign him, they should go for him.”
IcFootballnews Opinion –
ARSENAL have so many attacking options on the wings or in midfield, but they need to sign a striker and if Arteta brings in anything different in the winter window, it could be a waste of money.
Arsenal fans want Toney – that is the signing the club need right now.
EZE CLAIM MADE –
Roy Hodgson has said Crystal Palace are “very confident” Eberechi Eze will sign a new contract despite interest from ARSENAL
The 24-year-old registered ten goals and four assists in 40 matches for Crystal Palace last season in all competitions, and his performances have led to England boss Gareth Southgate calling him upto the National side.

It is no secret that ARSENAL will look to delve into that transfer kitty in the coming transfer windows and add a few players to the side that will push them on for the remainder of the season.
However – despite all the speculation regarding the future of Eze – Hodgson has now come out and sent a clear message to all chasing clubs by revealing that the club are confident that Eze will sign a new contract at Palace.
“I believe the club are working very hard with Eberechi Eze,” Hodgson said. “They are very confident it won’t be too long before they can announce him as well.
“These matters are taken care of by [chairman] Steve Parish and [sporting director] Dougie Freedman, they keep me informed. But certainly, they are optimistic it won’t take too long to get Eze to commit his future as well.”
The 25-year-old has been sidelined with a hamstring injury since the 1-0 win over Man Utd, which also ruled him out of Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the games against Australia and Italy last month

Unfortunately, a new contract signing does not really mean that players will not depart the club and if ARSENAL do come calling with the right offer, it will be hard for Palace and Eze to turn down such a big move.
And to be honest – he is at that stage of his career that he may need to make the step up if he wants to improve.
POSITIVE WHITE TALKS HELD –
ARSENAL have held positive talks with defender Ben White over an improved contract, it has been revealed.
Since his move from Brighton just a few seasons ago – White has developed into a player that Mikel Arteta can really rely on and a star that has the ability to play in a couple of positions.

White’s current deal at Arsenal is up in 2026 – but the Gunners are keen to make sure that he is rewarded for the good performances he has put in that Arsenal shirt and Sky Sports News understands there is a willingness from all parties to come to an agreement.
