Mikel Arteta gets clear Douglas Luiz Arsenal transfer update amid Declan Rice new role demand
Arsenal returned to winning ways on the travels with a narrow victory against Brentford that sent them top of the Premier League table. The Gunners were able to take advantage of Manchester City and Liverpool each dropping points in their clash with the headlines surrounding Kai Havertz and Aaron Ramsdale in the wake of Saturday's clash.
After a tough start to life at Emirates Stadium, Havertz scored the winning goal with Ramsdale fortunate to keep a clean sheet after making two errors. For the first time since early September, Raya was forced to watch a league game from the bench with a former Chelsea goalkeeper delivering his verdict on the battle between the two and the issue created by Mikel Arteta.
Elsewhere, the Arsenal boss has been sent a clear Declan Rice message with an important update also emerging on the status of January target Douglas Luiz at Aston Villa.
Here are your Arsenal morning headlines on Tuesday, November 28.
Luiz transfer update
Arsenal have been handed an update on the future of Douglas Luiz by Aston Villa manager Unai Emery. In the summer of 2021, the Gunners saw three bids rejected with the Brazil international subsequently going on to sign a new contract at Villa Park, but links over a switch to north London have resurfaced.

Martin Zubimendi, Ruben Neves, Gabriel Moscardo and Kalvin Phillips are just a few names to be linked as targets with Luiz as another, however bringing in the latter could be quite the challenge based on Emery's update.

Rice role change demand
Ian Wright has revealed the Declan Rice change he wants to see implemented by Mikel Arteta which would involve making a brutal Arsenal decision.
While Rice often goes unnoticed doing the dirty work in midfield, his impact in the 1-0 win at the Gtech Community Stadium was noticeable as it was his goal-line clearance that prevented Bryan Mbeumo from scoring the opener after a mistake by Aaron Ramsdale.
And now Wright has reacted to his display in west London by giving a wider opinion on his overall impact at Emirates Stadium along with an understandable suggestion which could give Arteta some food for thought.

Ramsdale message
Former Premier League goalkeeper Mark Bosnich has given his thoughts on the David Raya and Aaron Ramsdale situation at Arsenal following the latter's start against Brentford.
With Raya unable to feature, the England international was able to keep a clean sheet but he did make two errors that very nearly led to a goal being conceded.
Understandably the topic of Ramsdale has been heavily discussed in recent days and now ex-Chelsea shot-stopper Bosnich has weighed in on the situation. Speaking to Sky Sports about Ramsdale, he said: "This is an ongoing saga, isn't it? Overall I think he did well, but we saw that incident in the first half where [Ramsdale] nearly got caught out."
