Mikel Arteta has been handed a major Arsenal injury blow following wins against Wolves and Luton Town in quick succession. 


The Gunners beat Wolves on Saturday before coming out on the right side of a chaotic seven-goal thriller at Kenilworth Road after Declan Rice nodded in the winner.

While Mikel Arteta would have likely been disappointed with the defensive displays, maximum points were achieved to put Arsenal five clear at the top of the Premier League table. One of the only negatives coming out of the games involved Takehiro Tomiyasu.


In the weekend's fixture, he pulled up clutching his calf before he was omitted from the squad to face Luton with Arteta learning exactly how long he will be absent for. With that said, football.london has pulled together the latest Arsenal injury news ahead of a tough clash at Villa Park

football.london understands it is indeed a calf injury for Tomiyasu, who was taken off in the second half against Wolves. The 25-year-old then missed out on the squad for Tuesday evening's game against Luton and football.london understands he will be absent for four to six weeks with the issue.
