The centre-back duo shone on Merseyside as Mikel Arteta's side maintained their loose grip on the title picture

A William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes defensive masterclass helped Arsenal stay on top of the Premier League after a battling 1-1 draw at Liverpool.

Gabriel's header gave the visitors the lead from a simple set-piece after four minutes before Mohamed Salah equalised 25 minutes later with an emphatic finish.




In a breathless game, the Reds, who sit one place and one point behind the table-topping Gunners, came closest to securing the victory, but in the end Mikel Arteta's side held on for a valuable point.
