Liverpool interested' in signing Bruno Guimaraes" as both team enter final talk
Liverpool are reportedly among the clubs interested in signing Newcastle United star Bruno Guimaraes.
Speculation emerged on Thursday when the Magpies' accounts were released, reporting a loss in excess of £73million for the 2022-23 season, leading to speculation that players could be sold to fund future incomings. As a result, the Brazilian midfielder has become one of the names touted for an exit.
Liverpool have been previously linked with Guimaraes, who recently proclaimed his adulation for Reds icon Steven Gerrard. And reports in Spain suggest that the 26-year-old could be used as a makeweight to level out the transfer uncertainty surrounding future business at St James' Park.

Diario AS has claimed that Bruno has been chosen by the Newcastle board as the player who will settle the accounts following the losses. The former Lyon midfielder signed a long-term contract, keeping him until 2028, but it has been suggested that they could demand €115million (£98m) for his services.
The report suggests that Liverpool are among the European powerhouses weighing up a move. Chelsea and the Reds are the 'most interested' with Barcelona also emerging as a possible destination.
"We do discuss things on a regular basis so there's no surprise to me," said manager Eddie Howe following the release of Newcastle's accounts. "We've been working under Financial Fair Play restrictions for a long time.
"Selling players is part of every football club's DNA now. It has to be with Financial Fair Play rules because we have to generate more income. To sign players, we may have to sell players. It doesn't necessarily mean 'star' players, whatever is meant by that term, but certainly selling players will be something this club will do now for the foreseeable future."
Meanwhile, Al-Ettifaq manager and Liverpool icon Gerrard could reportedly eye a double-swoop for Joel Matip and Thiago Alcantara. The Reds pair are out of contract in the summer and will leave as free agents, if their current deals run down. Both Matip and Thiago have suffered from their respective injury issues.
Matip was forced off against Fulham at the beginning of December and the diagnosis revealed that he has ruptured his cruciate ligaments, which would rule him out of the remainder of the season. The Spaniard has faced his own injury woes with a hip injury keeping out of the first-team squad since April.
Gerrard was appointed as the head coach of the Saudi Pro League outfit last summer and moved to strengthen his side with the acquisitions of Reds skipper Jordan Henderson, Demarai Gray and Gini Wijnaldum.
90min have claimed that both Matip and Thiago were also considered as options for the Gulf side last summer, but Henderson was the preferred target. With the pair in the final six months of their deals, they are both free to speak to Gerrard over a possible move.
